Charles and Elizabeth Vance were
married October 31, 1854 at a Baptist Church (St. Armand East)
Missiqui,, Quebec
Charles was born in Ireland,
February 1821 and moved to US. His father William and Mother Sarah,
moved the family to Canada where William died in 1866.
Elizabeth Turner was born in
Vermont, 1835, Daughter of Hamilton Turner and Elizabeth Himes.
Elizabeth died in 1924 at the age of 88 and Charles died in 1905 at

In 1878, the family put up for sale,
their farm, livestock, and furnishings, preparing for their departure
to the United States. Their Daughter Mary had already married in 1876
and located to Minnesota, which in all likeliness, the family passed
through sometime in 1878 or early 1879 to visit on their way to the
Montana Territory where they arrived in 1879. They arrived at Glendale
in 1879 with their seven young Sons. Payroll records show that Charles
Vance was in the "employ" of the Hecla Consolidated Mining Company.
