This page is made possible through the generosity of the many families who were kind enough to share their archives. I want to especially thank my good friend "Dave Goody" (for, without his generosity, the many wonderful photos and databases on this page would not be possible.) (Databases, spreadsheets and genealogies.. coming soon). Dave, what a wonderful collection you have.... Thank you!
For all the Ben Goodys and Vern Pomeroys in the world:
The images contained on this site are and have been "public domain". (Created before 1923). Anyone falsely claiming "copyright infringement" is doing so under penalty of perjury per copyright affidavit laws. Owning a photograph is not the same as owning a copyright. All works published in the United States before 1923 are in the public domain. Works published after 1923, but before 1978 are protected for 95 years from the date of publication. If the work was created, but not published, before 1978, the copyright lasts for the life of the author, photographer or artist plus 70 years. “Publication” is the distribution of copies … of a work to the public by sale or other transfer of ownership, or by rental, lease, or lending. You cannot claim a copyright on an image that predates 1923.
